"JAIL STAR" TV PRODUCTION SERIES

"Jail Star" is our latest and most exciting television series yet! News about it spread globally in a matter of hours and we are currently inundated with requests for radio, television and newspaper interviews. Filmed by our offender students in our television studio in Pollsmoor Correctional Centre it's a talent contest with a difference. All the contestants and judges are offenders and Correctional Officers! The winner will only be announced once JAIL STAR! has been released to all Correctional Centres nationally which have the newly installed television networks.

The purpose of this series was to give offenders something RELEVANT to watch which would unify them regardless of their categories and gang-affiliations thus making prison a little more peaceful. It also provided a platform where offenders and Correctional Officers could work together. Both these factors make rehabilitation a little easier.

For our offender students it gave them the opportunity to hone their skills in a live environment and the contestants got the oportunity to just be themselves for a few minutes and to focus on something positive. In the final programme we have included a message of hope and vision and encourage them to take positive steps to changing their lives for the better.

"NEW DAY" TV PRODUCTION SERIES

This series is also produced by our offender students. These half-hour programmes consist of 3-5 minute stories based on the lives of individual offenders and Correctional Officers. The purpose of this series is to move offenders away from looking at the negative and to steer their lives towards something more positive. It also encourages them to take an active role in their own rehabilitation.
